The People’s March for Europe organised the march in London on the September 9th, 2017. The march attracted a crowd of 50-60k people and raised over £40,000 in crowdfunding for the event. We showed that the public is deeply unhappy with Brexit and the way this country is heading. This fight isn’t just about today, it’s about tomorrow and the future we create for our children and grandchildren. Will our children look back and see this destruction of the UK and the removal of their rights and freedoms in the EU, as a great moment in history? Or will they hate us?

The news outlets across the UK, Europe and the world took notice on the 9th September, they realised the Remain voice isn’t dead. We need to keep them talking about us and make sure that the option to remain in the EU is part of the Brexit narrative from now on.  We have been out of the news for too long, and it’s definitely not too late. We cannot give up now.

What can you do?

The People’s March on the 9th September isn’t the end it is just the beginning. What we did is the start of a new narrative for the Remain movement. What we do now is important, not just for ourselves but for future generations. Now we are asking you to take the debate to the streets. Politics might not be a topic of conversation people are comfortable with but it’s a conversation that must be had before it’s too late. Engage friends, family, co-workers and random people you meet in the conversation about Brexit. If we don’t talk about Brexit it won’t go away, if we engage in the civilised debate we can change minds and change the future. No matter what our beliefs, ideals or nationality Brexit isn’t about money, power, or sovereignty, it’s about Civil Rights and the future of our children and grandchildren.

Meet with your MPs, find your local pro-EU groups and help out, but never stop talking about the importance of EU. The moment we stop talking is the moment we have lost the fight.

Our future?

Over the coming week, we will be reworking this site into a resource that all Remainers can use. We are looking at new t-shirt designs to spread the pro-EU love and using the profits from this to help individuals and groups keep the Remain voice in the public eye. There will be new information on ‘everyday activism’ and what every one of us can do. Links to local groups so you can find like-minded people in your area, and a forum so you can make new friends and organise your own events.

The People’s March for Europe is a platform for you to use, we will give you information and work with you to stop Brexit. It’s your voice that is important we will amplify it and help find others that sing from the same song sheet.

Autumn of Discontent

There are many more marches over the coming months, if you couldn’t make it to the People’s March, then try to make it to one of these. It’s a great opportunity for all of us to unite for a common cause, and make a difference.
